About the Department
The Department of Management and Accounting is one of the four departments created when the then Institute of Administration was converted into a Faculty by a special resolution of the University Senate on 5th March 1976. Prior to this time, it was a unit within the Institute providing postgraduate level instructional programmes designed to professionalize the administrative class of government. Becoming an integral part of the University’s academic organization structure, the Department assumed responsibility for the development of subjects and courses within its purview and competence of its teaching staff.
Thus, the B.Sc. Accounting programme was developed to meet the middle and high level human resources need in accounting for both the private and public sectors of the economy.
